(2) Install MEDAL on your PC
Installation of MEDAL is very easy. You need only
to run the above downloaded EXE file. Please remember that
you need to have around 45 M-bytes free space on the Drive you want to
install MEDAL. MEDAL also needs an additional 45 M-bytes space on the
Drive that the
Windows 95/98/NT OS is installed. The second 45 M-bytes space is
temporarily
used during installation procedures. For example, if you want to
install
MEDAL on drive C [C:\MEDAL], and the Operating System (OS) of your PC
is
also installed on C:\Windows, you must have at least 90 (45+45) M-Bytes
space
to assure safe installation.
(3) Working with MEDAL
You feel convenient with MEDAL if you have enough
memory (at least 128 Mbytes) and a Pentium II (equivalent or above) PC.
MEDAL is
designed to manipulate multi-slice medical images and 3-D
surface/volume. Hence, it swallows a lot of memory. Before working with
MEDAL,
we strongly recommend you to close any other heavy application software
on your PC.
